OUR INSTRUCTORS
Owner & Head Instructor/Coach
MARK WARBURTON
Mark Warburton is a 6th degree black belt and our head instructor & coach. He began martial arts training in 1990 with a short stint in Karate after becoming a fan of martial arts films. In early 1994, he began training in Taekwondo, fell in love with the martial art & sport and has never looked back since.
In January 1999, he began assisting with the instruction of classes and by 2001 was a regular instructor, occasionally coaching junior athletes at provincial & national competitions before becoming a full time coach in 2008 running a branch non-profit school.
In 2015, Sarnia Olympic Taekwondo was formed, and after various relocations, the school has grown into a martial arts family with over 150 enrolled students on a consistent basis.
Mark has been a national level competitive athlete since 1999, and an international level athlete since 2001. He has won several medals at National Championships, both in Canada and Great Britain (dual citizenship) as well as medals at International G-ranking competitions.
As a coach, he has led dozens of athletes to national and international medals, including training players to make the Canadian Junior National Team to attend the Junior World Championships and Junior Pan-American Championships.
However, his passion is not only for coaching sport Taekwondo but to teach martial arts to everybody - to see someone develop into a better all-around human being through training.
